Smart Use of Current Technology Is Required To Make Gains

Obviously, we need solutions which together increase security and usability plus technology should guarantee a higher level of privacy. We need our key application vendors to ease the transition to mobile devices without creating another layer of complexity and fragmentation. We dream of relying on fast mobile data everywhere but the reality is that all countries and regions have a different pace. Lastly, the interoperability between key vendors is becoming increasingly hectic and there should be a solution for this problem.

Current challenges in the business
Three topics keep me awake. First, accelerating the deployment of global ERP is a challenge. Second, migrating to mobile User Interface is difficult. Third, simplifying the infrastructure and reducing the number of applications. Technology trends that will influence your business Predictive analytics and connected objects will probably have the highest impact in pharmaceuticals.
The role of a CIO
In the recent years, I had to provide: 1. More expertise and insights on Business Processes standardization and optimization, 2. Advocacy for global solutions. I will need to be a trusted partner with the Business in digital solutions and innovative business processes.
My word for a CIO
Large corporations like urs have thousands of applications. Simplification of such a landscape is probably the most difficult topic where I can bring some insights. We focus on educing the number of applications by approximately 6-10 percent per year by implementing strong governances; KPIs; applications portfolio management by business Process and a Target Applications Landscape. We need our key application vendors to ease the transition to mobile devices without creating nother ayer of complexity and fragmentation
